City of Yuma Road Paving Project Starts Friday, November 1st
16th Street from Avenue B to Avenue C
Yuma, Arizona – Crane Elementary School District met with City of Yuma officials last Wednesday, October 23th to discuss the City of Yuma’s upcoming 16th street road paving project from Avenue B to Avenue C. The project starts Friday, November 1st until mid-February (date not confirmed). The project description outlines the removal and replacement of the existing pavement by milling and filling 3” paved surface on 16th?Street from Avenue B to Avenue C. Installing waterlines, remove and replace curbing, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, install new traffic signal detection systems and new thermoplastic striping.
Below is a list of specific items we believe to be important information that may impact your families commute to and from Ronald Reagan Elementary, H.L. Suverkrup and/or Gowan Science Academy:
Project to begin this Friday, November 1st;
there will be one lane in each direction (east/west) open throughout the project;
phase 1 – underground utilities, concrete work from November – early mid-December;
phase 2A – paving south side from mid-December – early January, traffic will be one lane in each direction east/west;
phase 2B – paving north side from early January 2020 – end of January 2020, traffic will be one lane in each direction east/west; and
phase 3 – final striping and raising utilities to grade – through mid-February.
